Bring your home layout, daily routines and equipment list to make the first conversation more useful.

Planning electrical and smart home systems begins with understanding how each room will be used. A few practical details can make your first consultation clearer and help identify the questions that matter for your home.

Start with the space and your routine

Prepare a home plan or photos of the space and explain how you use each room. Furniture positions, work areas and places to relax help inform where power points and controls may be needed.

A useful preparation checklist

You do not need every answer before the consultation. Start with what you know and review the remaining details together.

  • Home plans or room photos, with approximate furniture positions.
  • Equipment you already own and anything you plan to add.
  • The routines you want to simplify, such as lighting, curtains or air conditioning.
  • Your construction stage, preferred timeline and approximate budget.

New builds and existing homes

For a new build, planning can begin with the drawings. An existing home needs a review of its current systems and the limits of the space first. The consultation helps define an appropriate scope for that particular home.
